Storm Crafters Game

Plasma Games

An science-based educational game where students manipulate weather conditions to create storms and destroy structures across the globe.

Responsible for UI/UX and Concept Art.

Style Guide

In order to bring the game to life, our team needed a style guide which would inform the overall visual language of the game. Collaborating with curriculum staff, I established the target audience and reduced the game to its core emotions: Playful, Lighthearted, & Impactful.

Knowing this, I was able to design a visual guide that determined all 2D reference needed for game development such as: Logos, Color Palette, Typeface, & UI Assets.

Concept Art

Along with the style guide, I created concept art of the various levels that would be seen in the game. These levels would feature locations from different parts of the world and different catastrophic weather events such as flooding, tornadoes, hurricanes, and blizzards.

This concept art was then given to 3D artists who would recreate the scenes and assets in Unity. Individual callouts were created for specific 3D models.

Game UX

The design process began with a brief from our curriculum staff, who would present an idea for a game and the content that it would teach. Using that brief, I drafted basic wireframes of each scene in the game, focusing specifically on the mechanics and functions of each player interaction.

These wireframes were brought to user test sessions where teachers would validate the concept and provide feedback.
